Look into my eyes

Look into my eyes

Do you remember how Kaa tricked Mowgli into becoming her next meal?

She hypnotised him with her eyes.

Research shows that eye contact is one of the most powerful ways that human beings connect with one another.

It’s the number one tip on any public speaking course.

“If there is one simple thing you can do to enhance your impact as a presenter, persuade others to see things as you see them, and make it more likely your audience will say yes to your idea, it is sustained, purposeful eye contact

Making eye contact with your audience.

When you’re making videos, the basic principles of public speaking still apply.

When you fail to make eye contact, your presentation looks uncomfortable and your message becomes less convincing.

This is where the Teleprompter for Video app can help.

By scrolling your script next to the camera lens, you will make perfect eye contact with your audience without thinking.

… and when you talk to someone directly, even on screen, they will respond more positively and watch your video to the end.

What if you DON’T want to look at your audience?

We recently had a good discussion about all this in our Teleprompter for Video Creators Facebook Group.

A group member asked how she could use the app whilst not looking at the camera. She was recording a self-tape for a drama script and needed to record herself talking to someone off-screen.

Using the POSITION setting (shown below), you can position the text area to the Opposite side of the screen using the settings menu shown below.

Using this setting she was able to read her script and look away from the camera.

I love engaging with app users in the Facebook group – and there are some great chats happening right now, so why not join in? It’s a brilliant place to share experiences, request new features and learn from each other.

Looking forward to “seeing” you soon!
